Wedding ring reunited

'Irreplaceable' wedding ring reunited after chance find by Dorset resident.

After discovering a wedding ring while walking his dog, Steven Rockett thought he'd never find the owner. That night he stumbled across a Facebook post from Suzanne Richmond, the owner of the ring, completely by chance.

The encounter led to Suzanne being reunited with her ring which sadly, she squashed accidentally with her car after dropping it. She's worried she may be giving her husband the wrong impression but is very grateful for Steven's find and honesty.

Traditions and Customs

Departure of the Bride and Groom

Traditionally a time for the best man and friends of the couple to be a little mischievous. They would decorate the going away car with balloons, crazy foam and tin cans without the couples' knowledge. The best man would announce the departure of the newlyweds, who by this time would have changed into their going away outfits. The guests would usually participate in the throwing of confetti or rice over the happy couple.

So as not to disappoint the guests, it is recommended the couple have a strategically placed second car a few miles up the road, in which they would continue their journey.

Britons find Wedding Planning stressful

Study claims that Britons find Wedding Planning stressful...

From compiling the guest list and selecting a venue to exploring cuisine, brides and grooms have their work cut out when planning their big day.

A poll of 2,000 British married couples found seating arrangements, photography and venue decor were key tension-contributors, with 52 per cent declaring the whole process "stressful."

The survey found brides will try on four different wedding dresses on average.

Eighty three per cent of repondents said they were heavily involved in the planning of their own wedding, while the remaining 17 per cent were happy to take a backseat and let someone else do the work.

Wedding Stationery

Among the endless decisions to be made before a wedding is what type of wedding stationery you will choose. Wedding stationery includes at least the wedding invitation itself and the outer envelope. Some people choose to include an RSVP card along with an accompanying envelope. And a Save-the-Date card could even be included in this set. The Save-the-Date card is of course mailed out before the actual wedding invitation.

In choosing your stationery, you first want to consider the overall theme or style of your wedding. You may choose to match the theme, or at least the colours, to the wedding. Of course, rather than match the colours exactly you may decide to choose colours that will compliment the wedding theme.

Weddings too extravagant?

People in China, as in many countries, have increasingly found themselves competing with neighbours and friends over weddings, and caught up in spiralling spending as bigger weddings become the fashion.

That means expensive receptions, elaborate outfits and overseas wedding photo shoots, pulling out all the stops no matter the cost.

Guests are also expected to bring ever more lavish gifts.

Wedding Invitations

WEDDING INVITATIONS:
Traditionally it would be the bride's parents who would invite the guests to the wedding as they were technically the hosts. Today this is not always the case. The wording on the invitations is dependant on who is 'hosting' the wedding. It is important to decide who the hosts are and word the invitations accordingly. Most good stationers are able to provide samples of invitations - and appropriate wording.

Most Expensive Wedding in History?

The bride, Isha Ambani, is the Ivy League-educated daughter of industrialist Mukesh Ambani, thought to be India’s richest man. Forbes estimates his net worth at over $43 billion.
The groom, Anand Piramal, is the relative pauper. His father, industrialist Ajay Piramal, is thought to be worth $10 billion.

The wedding is being held in Mumbai on Wednesday but festivities began weeks ago, starting in September with an engagement party at a lakeside Italian palace. Over the weekend, thousands attended pre-wedding parties at a 16th century palace in the Indian desert city of Udaipur, where videos shot by partiers showed Hillary Clinton dancing with Shah Rukh Khan, one of India’s biggest movie stars, as former U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry danced just a few feet away.
A highlight was a performance by Beyonce, who sang “Crazy In Love,” among other hits, with a band backing her up and a series of costume changes that included at least one India-inspired outfit.
